The inaugural Sceilig Showing Festival at Sceilig Equestrian, Watergrasshill, Co. Cork on Sunday the 27th of June!

Horse Ring – Grass Arena 1 9.00am

  1. 9.00 – 4 Year Old Hunter – Mare or Gelding 4 years of age.
  2. 9.35 – Lightweight Hunter – Mare or Gelding 4yrs old and over, to carry 12 stone 7lbs.
  3. 10.00 – Middleweight Hunter – Mare or Gelding 4yrs old and over, to carry up to 13 stone.
  4. 10.50 – Heavyweight Hunter – Mare or Gelding 4yrs old and over, to carry 14 stone or over.
  5. 11.15 – Small Hunter – Mare or Gelding 4yrs old and over, under 158cm
  6. 11.40 – Ladies Hunter – Mare or Gelding, 4yrs old and over, to be ridden by lady riders who have attained their 16th birthday by the 1st of January 2021.

Championships for Weighted Hunters

7. 13.00 – Amateur Class – Mare or Gelding, 4 years old and over to be ridden by an amateur rider. An amateur is defined as a person who does not derive an income from horses. The horse entered should be the riders regular mount and have not been ridden by a professional in any class at the show.

  1. 14.10 – Open Cob Class – Mare or Geldings, Lightweight, Heavyweight and Maxi cobs, 4yrs old and over.
  2. 15.00 – Riding Horse Class – Mare or Gelding, 4yrs old and over. If enough entries to be split large and smalls.
  3. 15.30 – Coloured Horse Class – Mare or Gelding, 4yrs old and over
  4. 16.05 – Ladies Side Saddle Class – Mare or gelding 4yrs old and over, 158 and over to be ridden by riders who have attained their 18th birthday by 1st January 2021.
  5. 16.30 – Veteran Class – Mare or Gelding, 15 years and over
  6. 17.00 – Racehorse to Riding Horse Class – Thoroughbred Mare or Gelding, 4year olds and over.

Championships for Riding Horses

 

  • Qualification for Connolly’s RED MILLS Supreme Champion of Champions, final in Glandoran Island Summer Show on Sun 1 st August.
  • The Supreme and Reserve Supreme Champion and highest placed 4yo will go forward for the Connolly’s RED MILLS Supreme Champion of Champions final at Glandoran Island Summer Show.
  • A maximum of 3 horses from each show will go forward to the final. If the 4yo is supreme or reserve supreme then only 2 horses will go forward to the final from your show.
  • All Judges must join to judge the Supreme Championship at the end of the day for each show.
  • If a 4yr old is NOT Champion or Reserve, then it will be up to the judge’s discretion to pick the top 4yr old ridden horse to go forward to the final. Should there be a tie for placings in different classes then the judges can decide.
  • In this case three horses will qualify from this show for the final.
  • If EITHER Champion or Reserve of the show is a 4yr old, then only these two horses will qualify.
  • If Champion or Reserve are BOTH 4yr olds, then both will qualify for the final both as 4yr olds and Champion and Reserve on the day.
  • Competitors must have passports available. The passport numbers of all prize winners will be recorded on the qualifying dates and then must be produced and confirmed on the day of the final.

Pony Ring – Grass Arena 2 9.00am

  1. 9.00 – Connemara Ridden Under 16 – Mare or Gelding 4yr old and over, riders under 16 years old.
  2. 9.35 – Connemara Ridden Over 16 – Mare, Gelding or Stallion 4yr old and over, riders over 16 years old.
  3. 10.15 – Show Hunter Lead Rein – Mare or Gelding 4yr old or over not exceeding 123cms suitable for and to be ridden by riders who have attained their 5th birthday but have not attained their 8th birthday by 1st January 2021.
  4. 10.35 – First Ridden Show Hunter – Mare or Gelding 4yr old and over not exceeding 123cms suitable for and to be ridden by riders who have attained their 5th birthday but have not attained their 10th birthday by 1st January 2021.
  5. 10.55 – Show Hunter Starter Stakes – Mare or Gelding 4yr old and over not exceeding 133cms suitable for and to be ridden by riders who have not attained their 12th birthday by 1st January 2021.
  6. 11.20 – 143 Show Hunter – Mare, Gelding or Stallion 4yr old and over not exceeding 143cms suitable for and to be ridden by riders who have not attained their 17th birthday by 1st January 2021. Stallion’s must be ridden by rider who has attended their 14th birthday by 1st January 2021.
  7. 11.45 – 153 Show Hunter – Mare, Gelding or Stallion 4yr old and over not exceeding 153cms suitable for and to be ridden by riders who have not attained their 20th birthday by 1st January 2021. Stallion’s must be ridden by rider who has attended their 14th birthday by 1st January 2021.
  8. 11.55 – Intermediate Show Hunter – Mare, Gelding or Stallion 4yr old or over exceeding 143cms but not exceeding 158cms suitable for and to be ridden by riders who have attained their 14th birthday but not attained their 25th birthday by 1st January 2021.

Show Hunter Championship – Classes 16, 17, 18, 20, 21, 22.

Connemara Championship – Classes 14, 15, 28.

 

Working Hunter Ring – Sand Arena 10.00am

  1. 10.00 – Working Hunter Starter Stakes – Mare or gelding 4yrs old and over, not exceeding 133, to be ridden by riders who have attained their 12th birthday by 1st January 2021. 80cm max
  2. 10.15 – 143 Working Hunter – Mare or gelding 4yrs old and over, not exceeding 143, to be ridden by riders who have attained their 18th birthday by 1st January 2021. 1metre max.
  3. 10.35 – 153 Working Hunter – Mare or gelding 4yrs old and over, not exceeding 153, to be ridden by riders who have attained their 18th birthday by 1st January 2021. 1.05m max.
  4. 11.20 – Connemara Working Hunter – Mare or gelding 4yrs old and over. 90cm max.

Show Working Hunter Championship – Classes 24, 26, 27.

  1. 13.00 – Horse 70cm Working Hunter – Mare or Gelding 4yrs old and over, over 158.
  2. 13.30 – Horse 80cm Working Hunter – Mare or Gelding 4yrs old and over, over 158, prize for highest placed 4-year-old.
  3. 15.30 – Horse 90cm Working Hunter – Mare or Gelding 4yrs old and over, over 158.
  4. 17.15 – Horse 1metre Working Hunter – Mare or Gelding 4yrs old and over, over 158, prize for highest placed 5-year-olds.
  5. 18.00 – Horse 1.10m Working Hunter – Mare or Gelding 4yrs old and over, over 158.

Horse Working Hunter Championship – Classes 19, 30, 31, 32, 33

Working Hunter Rules

  • Back protectors are mandatory for all under 16’s. this can be removed for the flat phase of the class.
  • Back protectors are recommended for over 16’s
  • The same rider must ride the horse throughout the class.

Tack:

  • Only front boots permitted, absolutely no back boots allowed.
  • Boots should be removed for the showing phase.
  • A Double Bridle may be worn.
  • A Running Martingale can be used with a double bridle but, on the snaffle rein only.
  • The same tack must be worn in all phases.

By submitting your entry to Sceilig Sport Horses you are agreeing to our Terms and Conditions below.

Should you feel you will not be able to adhere to these protocols then you should not attend Sceilig Sport Horses.

These Terms will be strictly adhered to and are in place for your safety, our staff’s safety and the safety of our other clients who will be using our facilities.

– Masks are now MANDATORY at all Sceilig shows.
– Keep your distance from others – MINIMUM 2 meters Social Distancing at all times.
– All up to date helmets and appropriate footwear must be worn at all times when mounted.
– Entries will be capped should demand be high
– No entries on the day
– No refunds after the close of entries
– Hand Sanitizers Stations are set up around the grounds, please use these upon arrival and before you leave.
– Admittance will only be allowed 45 minutes before your start time and you must leave 45 minute after you compete.
– Time keeping will be strictly adhered to.
– Name/s and contact numbers of grooms/helpers must be submitted with entries. This is necessary in the event of any contact tracing required by the HSE. This information will not be shared with any 3rd party group and will only be used in the event of contact tracing.
– Entering the yard, lunge, walker, small arena and any interactions with Sceilig Horses is completely forbidden.
– The toilet facilities remain open and will be cleaned regularly.
